Tamworth Pigs

Tamworth pork and bacon is widely believed to be the best tasting of all breeds. Our pigs spend their time outside all year round as they were meant to. We rotate their runs regularly ensuring fresh and natural grazing is available. They are fed with our own organically grown vegetables, beet / swede / sweetcorn / kale along with organic pellets not too high in protein to ensure a slower natural growth. Here are a few pictures of our litter last year.

Ryeland Sheep.

We now produce pure Ryeland lambs Courtesy of our very friendly pedigree ram Fergie soon to be joined by Jonty and our Ryeland ewes. The result is a short and very stocky lamb with an excellent flavour.

Free Range Hens and Chickens. 

The hens are mainly Black Morans but we also have Cirvees and the chickens (birds for the table) are Atlas which are a plain white heavy breed from France. The laying birds lay quite a variety of coloured eggs from dark brown to a more unusual and sought after pale green. The small flock of hens have free range access to 25 acres of naturally kept grass land as well as organic mixed corn and pellets. The yolks of our eggs are an intense orange like yellow.
